The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Clara Drown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Cheryl

I have many fond memories of my Great Aunt Clara. She was a sweet woman with a big heart. Her eyes would hold mine in conversation, always, and it was comforting, as I could see the love there in her eyes. Aunt Clara helped to make my childhood Christmases special each and every year with her handmade gifts! Sent to Massachusetts via the US mail, Mom would put the individual gifts under the tree – not to be opened until Christmas morning. These gifts were always as exciting to open as the ones from Santa! I recall a pair of crochet slippers that Aunt Clara made for me. I had never seen anything like them – so unique. I treasured them (and wore them out)! The best gift, though, was her influence - my love of arts & crafts is still going strong. As an adult, I was fortunate to be able to talk to Aunt Clara regarding our family history. She was one of the few remaining links to the past. She shared so much with me regarding my Maine family roots, and for this I am forever grateful.
