NEW SHARON – Thelma A. Lemieux, 79, of New Sharon, passed in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family, on the evening of July 9, 2014. She was born April 29, 1935, in Farmington, a daughter of Hilary and Agnes (Pressey) Schanck. She was a 1953 graduate of Farmington High School and on Oct. 29, 1955, married Joseph ”Ernie” Lemieux, Sr. They lived for many years outside of Maine, but returned to stay in 1979. For many years, together, they were active in their faith communities and served as local hospice volunteers. He died on Feb. 21, 1995. Thelma was a devoted homemaker and remained active in her community and the Farmington Falls Baptist Church following her husband’s passing. She enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. She is survived by her children: Joseph and his wife, Loise; Michele and her husband, Steven; Julie and her husband, Bob; Matthew and his wife, Rebecca’ 13 GC and 15 Great-GC; siblings; Lilly, Vernon and Barbara and brother-in-law, Andre; close friends: Nadine and Genella, amongst many others. She was predeceased by a son Keith Lemieux in 1993. LEMIEUX – died, at New Sharon, 7/9/14, Thelma A. Lemieux, 79, of New Sharon. Family and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., (Rtes. 2 & 27) Farmngton on Sunday from 2-3 and 5-7 PM. Public graveside services will be held Monday morning, July 14, 2014, at 10 AM from the Chesterville Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Tolman officiating. Remembrance gifts may be given to The Lustgarten Fdt. For Pancreatic Cancer Research 1111 Stewart Ave. Bethpage, NY 11714.
