Obituary for Sylvia Quirrion

Sylvia Quirrion
FARMINGTON-Sylvia Jean Cox Quirrion, lovingly referred to as “Sylvia Jean”, 65, of East Livermore, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, September 3, 2011 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was born on Jan. 25, 1946, in Norway, a daughter of John Ellsworth and Jennie Lind (Silver) Cox. She attended school in Woodstock and Bryant Pond. On June 29, 1968 she married, Philip Quirrion in Turner. They made their home in East Livermore for 43 years together and she primarily worked as a loving homemaker to her husband and children. She was a beloved wife, mother, meme, second mother to some, sister, aunt and friend to everyone that was fortunate to meet her. To know her was to love her. She cherished her time with family, especially her “grand babies” who she loved to nurture and teach. Sylvia enjoyed cooking and always wanted to try a new dish, watching the cooking channel, soap operas, and Elvis. She enjoyed singing all day, every day especially the song, “You Are My Sunshine” to her children and grandchildren which became her trademark. In May of this year she was baptized, received first communion, confirmation and anointing of the sick at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay which she and her family were really proud of. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Philip Quirrion of East Livermore; her children, Dale Quirrion of East Livermore and Lynn Souther and her husband, Ryan of East Livermore; grandchildren, Tabitha Edes, Kyle Souther and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Townsend, Ashley and Cameron Souther all of East Livermore; siblings, Leroy Cox of South Paris, Edith Sampson and her husband, Wayne of North Turner, Irene Buck and her husband, Merle of East Livermore and Susan Cox of North Turner.
