PORTLAND -- Rodney Dean Parlin, 59, of Chesterville, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday afternoon, August 15, 2011 at Maine Medical Center, Portland, surrounded by family. He was born Nov. 30, 1951 in Farmington, a son of Ashley and Elizabeth (Nile) Parlin. Rodney's passion was his family. Nothing was more important to him than being a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and brother-in-law. Throughout his life, Rodney boxed in the Navy, played in The Parlin Brothers Band, created beautiful fieldstone work, and coached many of his sons' sports teams. Rodney loved Maine and enjoyed spending time with family and friends while playing music, golfing, hunting, fishing, camping and travelling. He also enjoyed refurbishing old houses with his wife. Rodney was predeceased by his father Ashley, mother Elizabeth, and siblings Mary, Ashley Jr. and Harland. He leaves behind his wife Patricia; his children Jason and wife Kate and their twin daughters Hallie and Vivienne, Adam and Sean and his girlfriend Jenni Correa; their mother Vicki; his stepdaughters Karrie Hiltz and her children Jazmine, Reece and Remy and Sabrina Storer and her fiancé Justin Lowe; his siblings Cassandra Ewing and her husband Steve; Jerry Parlin and his wife, Bonnie; Randy Parlin and his wife, Dodi; Ronal Parlin and his wife Annette; Melinda Parlin and partner Jeff Bossie, Kelvin Parlin, Raymond Parlin and his wife Raelene, and sister-in-law Kit. He also leaves behind mother and father-in-law, Robert and Dottie Bryant, sister-in-law Sherry Bilodeau and her husband, Mike; Betty Bryant; brother-in-law Russell Bryant and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rodney truly lived life to the fullest; he was funny, generous, and multi-talented and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. There will be a remembrance celebration of his life on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 1 PM at his home in Chesterville open to all who knew and loved Rod.
