FARMINGTON-Larry J. Houghton, 67, of Phillips, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born on May 13, 1944 in Lewiston, the son of Earl W. and Mildred (Lishon) Houghton. He attended schools in Auburn and Lewiston. A veteran of the US Air Force, Larry returned home in 1975, after being stationed in Germany. He worked for many years driving a school bus for SAD #’s 9 and 58 and later drove for Western Maine Transportation. Larry was a former member of the Masons and enjoyed wildlife photography and sharing his wonderful cooking with friends and neighbors. He is survived by his three sons, Eric James Houghton and his wife, Michelle of South Jordan, UT, Nicholas Aaron Houghton of Park City, UT and Joshua Winfield Houghton of NH and Phillips; ex-wife and dear friend, Sheri (Anderson) Houghton of Farmington. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Houghton. Words of condolence and tribute may be shared with his family at www.wilesrc.com. Larry’s family invites family and friends to a time of fellowship and refreshment at his home at 54 River Rd., Phillips from 1-5PM, Fri., Sept. 9, 2011. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Funeral Home, Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington.
