NORTH JAY – Irene Pearl Trask, 84, of North Jay, died Monday May 9, 2011, peacefully at her home, with her loving family by her side. Irene was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Farmington, Maine, the daughter of Perley and Olive (Bachelder) Ranger. She was educated in the Wilton schools and worked for over 32 years for Forsters Manufacturing in East Wilton until her retirement. Irene was married August 1947 in Wilton, Maine to Walter Trask who predeceased her on July 27, 1987. They moved to Industry where they had five children before settling in North Jay, Maine where they raised their family. Irene was known for her great peanut butter fudge that her family always looked forward to. She loved flowers and in her younger years enjoyed attending her childrens’ sporting events. She will be remembered by all for never forgetting to acknowledge every anniversary and birthday. She will especially be remembered for starting her Christmas shopping in January, each year, to ensure she would have a wrapped gift under the Christmas tree for everyone from her oldest child to her youngest great grandchild. “Grammie” had a talent for choosing toys that the little one’s loved and she will be very missed by them. Survivors include sons, Terry and wife Iris Trask, Gene Trask, Jeff and wife Bonny Trask, all of North Jay; daughter Rose and husband Mike Grimanis of Farmington; step-son, Sherman Adams and wife Shirley of Farmington; daughter-in-law June Trask of North Jay; sister-in-law, Blanche Ranger of Livermore; grandchildren: Jessica Sueiro and husband, Will; Brandy Lakis; Jon Fitch and wife, Katie; Jodie Fitch and companion Jason Fleeper; Eric Fitch; Tony Grimanis; Duane Trask; Sara Behr and husband Christian; Katie Trask; Amanda Trask and fiancé Dan Leavitt; John Trask and companion Linda; Julie Rand and husband Pat; Keith Trask and wife, Ashley: Bethany Tucker; 15 great-grandchildren; close family friends Debra Therrien and April Gallant Trask, longtime companions Bill Pressley, her special love Smokey, her pug, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; son Thomas Trask; sisters Althea Robinson Fletcher, Christine Richards and brother, Rodney Ranger. TRASK – died, at N. Jay, 5/9/2011, Irene Pearl Trask, 84, of N. Jay. Family and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton, Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 AM from the Center, with Rhonda Wiles-Rosell officiating. Private family committal services later in the springtime at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton.
