LEWISTON-Frances E. Yeaton, 93, of the Stricklands area of Livermore Falls, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2011 at the Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston, where she had been a resident since November of 2006. She was born on May 31, 1918, in Portland, the daughter of, Ralph Nichols and Naomi (Smith) Timberlake. She attended school in Fayette and Jay. On Sept. 5, 1936 she married John Yeaton in Wilton. They made their home in Stricklands in 1955 where she worked as a loving homemaker to her husband and family. Frances was a former member of the Starling Grange and Fayette and was active in the Fayette P.T.A. when her children were in school. She loved her family first and working in her yard whether it be manicuring the lawn or tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed playing various card games including, Cribbage and “63”, baking, canning the “fruits of her labor” from the garden, and time spent with her family especially her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, Joan Thomas and her husband, Robert Clough, Sr. of Farmington, Glenda DiPompo and her husband, Robert of Jay, Carlene Davenport and her husband, Eric of Fayette, Jack Yeaton and his wife, Brenda of Franklin, MI, Wayne Yeaton of Norwich, CT and Krystal Plourde and her husband, Richard of Farmingdale; 20 grandchildren, Bradford and Mark West, Alison Hansen, Mitch, Lori, Lane and Julie Thomas, Nelson and Daniel DiPompo, Karen Quirrion, Deana LeSuer, Cheryl Burhoe, Marcia Barclay, Tiger Hewett, Craig Yeaton, Dawn Geraldo, Kendra Yeaton, Kim Lott, Michael Hiscock and Jill Welch; 22 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Edward Lambert of Auburn; a sister-in-law, Mary Anne Nichols of Vicksburg, MI. She was predeceased by her husband, John Yeaton on Nov. 4, 1988; her siblings, Lincoln Foster, Waldo and Steve Nichols, Ivey Lambert and Sylvia Murphy. Funeral services will be held, 2PM, Wed., July 13, 2011 at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Rd., Rte. 133, Jay with her grandson, Mitch Thomas, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call at the center, 3-6PM, Tue., July 12, 2011. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Farmington.
