Obituary for Dennis Therrien

Lewiston – Dennis Ray Therrien, 63, of Madrid, went to be with the Lord Thursday evening at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Farmington, Aug. 8, 1947, a son of Colin and Ruth (Plog) Therrien. He spent his childhood in Madrid and was educated in the schools of Madrid and Phillips. Following school, he joined the Job Corps to become a heavy equipment operator. On June 12, 1971, he married Barbara Lamb of Rangeley. He also had been employed at Veryfine Fruit Juice Co. in Groton, CT. He was a doting grandfather to his two grandchildren and he loved auto racing, motorcycles, and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Madrid; a daughter, Margaret (Marti) and her two children, Bryce and Brooklyn of Pepperell, MA; his mother, Ruth Therrien of Industry; his siblings, Robert and his his wife, Carol of Beverly, MA, Linda Gray and her husband, Charles of Ellsworth, Scott of West Gardiner, Dexter and his wife, Susan of Friendship, and Peggy Hinkley and her husband, Mark of Industry; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Dexter on March 23, 2009 and his father, Colin in Nov. of 2007. Tributes and remembrances may be shared on his tribute wall at www.wilesrc.com. Therrien – died at Lewiston, Thursday, May 19, 2011, Dennis Ray Therrien, 63, of Madrid. Public memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Rangeley Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Wilson officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call one hour prior to the services. Refreshments will be served in the church undercroft following services. Private family interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Rangeley. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be considered to the American Cancer Society, Maine Affiliate, Inc., 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
