Bruce Henry Plummer , 75, of Farmington, died as expected, Friday evening, July 18, 2014 after a long illness. He was the son of Henry Almon Plummer and Sara Frances Jones Plummer. He was born 8/13/1938 in Utica, NY. His early education was in Booneville , NY until the family moved to Hampden, Maine in the summer of 1954, where he graduated from Hampden Academy in 1956. He received his BS in Animal Husbandry from University of Maine at Orono in 1960. He continued as a research assistant in the department of Animal Nutrition at the University of Maine. He did post graduate studies at Ohio State University before working as a research assistant at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME Rabbit Genetics Division at Hamilton Station. In 1969, he graduated from Northeastern University, with a BS in Pharmacy. He was the first pharmacist at Franklin Memorial Hospital, where he worked for 18 years prior to purchasing Farmington Drug Store with partner, Paul Flagg, RPh. In later years, he was employed by Hannaford Pharmacy and Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betsey Robbins Plummer of Farmington; son Mark Henry and wife, Kimberly of Binghamton, NY; daughter, Robin Gale and husband, Mark Brittelli of Bangor, ME; daughter, Sara Elizabeth and husband, Gordon Horton of Rumford, RI; and daughter, Rose Catherine and companion, Justin Kumpf of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren Joseph Bruce and wife, Emily of Bangor, ME, Caitlin Elizabeth Brittelli, Holiday Rose Horton , Starfire Rose Horton, Ruby Rose Plummer; cousins Frank Hill, Karen Spurgin, Brian Hill, Myrna Lamb, Robert Plummer and close family friend Sheri Houghton He was predeceased by his parents, his cousin, Gard Plummer and close family friend Larry Houghton. He was a 50 year Hampden Masonic member of Mystic Lodge #0065. The family gives thanks to the support given by the staff of Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice Program, especially Kimberly Foss, RN and Kathy Gould, CAN, and to Dr. Rev. Richard Waddell. Condolences and tributes and a memorial video may be shared on his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com. Plummer – died at Farmington, Friday, July 18, 2014, Bruce Henry Plummer, 75, of Farmington. Public memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, High Street, Wilton with Father Tim Walmer, officiating. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p. m. at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, with Masonic Services at 7 p. m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be considered to Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240 or to Northstar Ambulance, c/o Franklin Memorial Hospital, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, ME 04938.
