Obituary for Brian Moody

Brian Moody
SEBOOMOOK LAKE, Maine – Brian Alan Moody, 57, of East Dixfield, died unexpectedly of natural causes on June 3, 2014 while on a fishing trip with his family and friends at Foley Pond. He was born Jan. 11, 1957 in Dexter. He was a 1975 graduate of Mt. Blue High School and a 1977 graduate of CMVTI where he earned a degree in Automotives. He was a skilled mechanic and had the mind of an engineer, always able to make tools and adapt equipment for challenging projects. He was employed by the MDOT out of Fairbanks. Brian served as a Lt. in the East Dixfield Fire Department for many years. He was a NASCAR fan and always enjoyed fishing, camping, forestry and woodworking. Brian also enjoyed the fine art of bartering and was always willing to help others and placed their needs ahead of his own. He was easily recognized when wearing his railroad engineers cap and will be missed at his Friday evening “prayer meetings” where he and his buddies enjoyed sharing a drink and offered their “confessions” to one another. He is survived by his two sons: Jared A. Moody of East Dixfield and Brian R. Moody of St. Petersburg, Florida; his mother, Evelyn C onkey of Wilton; his fiancé Joyce Farrington of East Dixfield; his four stepchildren: Rachael Plante of Jay; Aaron Towle of S.
