Wilton – Bertrand “Bert” Rodger Heutz, 75, of East Wilton, died early Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 29, 1939, a son of Joffre and Helene (Chasse) Heutz and received his education in Lewiston schools. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and on May 30, 1964, married Shirley Searles in Lewiston. Mr. Heutz was employed as a ground wood operator at International Paper Company in Jay for 34 years, retiring in 2001. Mr. Heutz and his wife wintered in Polk City, Florida for many years, where he was active in the local food bank and sold programs at Detroit Tigers spring training baseball games. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan and watched NASCAR races on television if there wasn’t a baseball game on. Mr. Heutz enjoyed bowling and belonged to several different leagues. He loved playing cards, fishing, mountain biking and kayaking with his wife as well as traveling to different locations in the United States including Hawaii. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley of East Wilton; a son Jeff of Auburndale, FL; daughter, Donna Diehl of New Albany, IN; a brother, Roger of Auburn; sisters, Theresa Pepin, Marlene Whitten, and Debbie Cummings, all of Lewiston; grandchildren, Devan Heutz, Brandy Spencer, and Tareck Ward; and a great grandson, Braeden Heutz; several nieces and nephews. Condolences, photos, and a memorial video may be shared on his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com. Heutz – died at Wilton, Saturday, May 24, 2014, Bertrand “Bert” R. Heutz, 75, of East Wilton. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 am from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farmington. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington on Tuesday from 6-8pm. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, followed by a reception at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall hosted by the Altar Guild. The family suggests that those who desire, consider memorial gifts in Mr. Heutz’s memory to Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
