Condolence From: Frances J. Peters
Condolence: Bert Jacobs was my Psycology Professor and he made a difference in my life. He had a personality that was full of life. I enjoyed his personality and sense of humor. One of his favorite Books was the Grand Inquisitor of which I have a copy. He leaves a gift of memories with me. He will be missed. Fran Peters

Condolence: Dr. Jacobs infused his lectures with knowledge of people in crises, politics with humor, philosophy and the love of learning with so much personality as to keep the most tired student attentive, all to show us that we can be effective helpers to our families, friends and clients. Bert was my favorite professor and I have been blessed to learn from him. Thank you his family for sharing him with all of us. He will always be remembered. “At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” Albert Schweitzer With fond memories Alice Burns

Condolence: Bert, you were one of my greatest professors - I loved the fact that you made people think, that you challenged preconceived notions and assumptions, as well as not conforming to societal norms. We had so many conversations about life, death, authenticity, and how to live and think outside of the box. Thank you for being yourself, and for validating that professionals can continue to be individuals and walk their own path. You will be sorely missed my friend. ~Kerry~

Condolence: The first time I met Bert at UMF, he was pretty intimidating. Then we talked about Golden Retrievers and became friends. I used to take his dog for a ride between classes to get her a hamburger at McD's. That was one of my assignments and I loved it. Bert was a good man and taught a lot of students things they didn't learn from anyone else. My condolences to the family, friends and students who will never experience Bert Jacobs.

Condolence: Bert will always be in my heart for all the generosity and caring he showed from the moment of meeting in a garage in Chesterville when he was introduced to me th first time and for the 11 years following. When my husband Sport told him of my eye issues Bert immediately was offering to hook me up with some one in Boston and he didnt even know me. i knew right then that he was a man with a huge heart. in the years to follow we have the memories of the cookouts we shared with Bert and Kathleen and i will never ever forget his suupport when Sport was in the hospital . Each time it was Berts calls that made me keep strong. he would call sometimes several times in one day for updates and to tell me what to look for and what to ask for questions. I used to joke that it was momma Bert calling. because he was like a mother hen for the ones he truely loved. Heaven has recieved a great man and we have lost him in our presence, but noone can take him from our hearts.
