BELFAST – The author of this obituary, is the humble, loving mother and Mimi, herself, Anna May Small Shardlow. “Anna (May) Small Shardlow passed away on July 21, 2014, at Tall Pines Living Center. She was born in Livermore Falls, Maine on July 16, 1931, the only daughter of William A. Small and Leona Bean Small McCrillis. At the age of 9 years, after the death of her father, she went to live with her grandparents, Edgar W. and Anna S. Savage in Farmington, Maine. Anna (May) graduated from Farmington High School in 1949. She was a member of Wilson Grange #321 for over 50 years, and also belonged to Excelsior Pomona #5, Maine State Grange and National Grange for more than 65 years. She was a former member of Colonial Daughters Chapter D. A. R. and the Mosher Hill Extension Group. She is survived by children: sons William A. and his wife, Tennie of Yarmouth and Wilbur A. and his wife, Naomi of West Gardiner and three daughters: Christine A. O’Roak and her husband, J. Charles O’Roak of Searsport, Rachel B. Heath and her husband, David A. Heath of Chesterville and Mary I Hyland and her husband, Randall T. Hyland of Searsmont; 11 Grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Three brothers: Carl Small of Windham; Harold Small of Phillips and Gerald McCrillis, Jr. of Sabattus and one sister: “Trudy” Crowley of Wilton. She was predeceased by two brothers: Wallace Small and Carroll Small.” A NOTE FROM HER FAMILY: "Our mom appreciated and modeled small acts of kindness throughout her lifetime. In her memory consider visiting someone who needs uplifting, give the gift of time to those in need, and treasure the moments you have with your family." SHARDLOW – died, at Belfast, 7/21/2014, Anna S. Shardlow, 83, of Belfast, formerly of Wilton and Livermore Falls. At her request, there were no visitation hours or services. Burial was at Treat Memorial Cemetery (Pleasant Hill Cemetery), Livermore Falls. Remembrance gifts may be given to the North Jay Grange #10 c/o Mavis E. Lane 390 Keep Rd. Jay, Maine 04239-4057 . Her family invites you to attend a Celebration of her life at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 612 Farmington Falls Rd., ( Rtes. 2 & 27), on Sunday Sept. 7 from 4-6 PM, with a potluck meal of comfort.
