FARMINGTON-Ada H. Tyler, 89, of Farmington, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation Center in Farmington. She was born on Oct. 28, 1921, in Phillips a daughter of Clinton and Grace (Wing) Harnden. She attended local schools. She married Albert Tyler on Nov. 11, 1930 in Phillips. They made their home at his family farm in Farmington where she worked tirelessly as a loving and caring homemaker to her husband and family while he worked the fields and lumbered in the woods. After the loss of the farm to a fire in 1982, they moved to the Holley Rd. in Farmington and she later worked at G.H. Bass in North Jay. Ada was a long time communicant of St. Joseph’s in Farmington. She enjoyed making mittens for her family and what was left, she generously donated to schools and children who needed them. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many articles of clothing over the years. Ada was also a very a charitable person who frequently donated to causes near to home and far away. She is survived by her children, Gail Currier of Farmington, Janet Kennedy and her husband, Alton of Industry, David Tyler and his wife, “Peachie” of Farmington, Joseph Tyler and his wife, Debbie of Winterport, Peter Tyler and his companion, Veronica Haines of New Vineyard and Edward Tyler and his wife, Cindy of Farmington; 32 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert in May of 1985; children, Elaine Flagg, Suzanne Nile, John Tyler, Nancy Tyler and Marilyn Gilmore; grandchildren, Mindy Tyler, Elisha Tyler and Cathy Choates. Ada’s family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to her by, Ellie, Cindy, David and the staff of Orchard Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11AM, Thu., Aug. 18, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington with Rev. Roger Chabot, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call 6-8PM, Wed., Aug. 17, 2011 at the Wiles Funeral Home, Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Farmington. Gifts may be given to St. Joseph’s Church, Middle St., Farmington, ME 04938.
