Lewiston - Steven L. Ellis, 68, of Carthage, died early Thursday morning, July 22 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born in Rumford, Oct. 29, 1952, a son of Edward (Bartlett) and Marilyn Lou (Welch) Ellis and received his education in local schools. in 1972, he married Melinda Enman at the Dixfield Nazarene Church and they made their home in Dixfield for many years, before moving to Carthage several years ago. Mr. Ellis was a "Jack-of-all" trades and started working in the woods at the age of 14. He worked in the woods for many years with Roland Tyler and also worked as a mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family as well as whittiling.
He is survived by his wife, Melinda of Carthage; children, Randy of Turner and Samantha of Dixfield; grandchildren, Thaden, William, Abigail, and Benjamin.
