Obituary for Roland Timberlake

Lewiston - Roland J. Timberlake, 88, of Livermore, died Friday at Central Maine Medical Center
in Lewiston. He was born in Livermore, July 20, 1932, a son of Stanley Austin and Annie
(Mickewic) Timberlake and attended the one-room school house at the Norlands, He was a
1951 graduate of Leavitt Institute. He worked at International Paper Co. in Jay for two years
before being drafted into the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable
discharge in 1954, he returned to International Paper Co. in Jay, where he worked for 36 years.
Mr. Timberlake was a tree farmer and a member of the Maine Antique Power Association, a
special hobby he enjoyed with his grandson, Owen. He will be remembered as being inquisitive
and adapted well to new procedures and technologies.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Christine (McDaniel) of Livermore; children, Joan
Rosano and her husband, Bill of NC, Wayne Timberlake and his wife, Theresa of Livermore,
and Cheryl Timberlake and her husband, Cliff Knapp of Hebron; 9 grandchildren, Lauren,
Jenna, Michael, Erin, Carrie, Lindsey, Trevor, Owen, and Finn; 10 great grandchildren, Evan,
Ellie, Nikesh, Baani, Megan, Mathias, Hezekiah, Lenae, Avonlea, and Roland; a brother, John
Timberlake and his wife, Flo of NC; He was predeceased by a brother, Clifford; sister, Shirley,
son, John, and a grandson, Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who desire consider memorial gifts in his
