Obituary for Roger Plaisted

Roger Robinson Plaisted, 61, passed from this world to the next on November 16, 2023. Roger R. was born in Burlington, Massachusetts on April 21, 1962, to the late Roger Cox Plaisted and Ruby (Currier) Plaisted. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1981, then continued his education and earned an Associate’s Degree at Middlesex Community College. After graduation he was employed at Apollo Computer Inc., located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Roger never stopped learning. He had a curious mind. Always wanting to know how things worked, by taking them apart, and putting them back together, even creating his own inventions. He was a man of many talents. Electronics and computers seemed to come naturally to him, a gift he certainly inherited from his father, who was an electrical engineer. Roger had an eye for detail, something which came in handy as he dabbled in photography and sculpture, two of his many hobbies. Growing up, the Plaisted family summered at “The Farmhouse” in Vienna, Maine for many years, and Roger would continue to visit Vienna as an adult.

While Roger’s passing came as a surprise, we are comforted with the knowledge that he is reunited with his late Mother and Father. Missing him greatly are his two younger Sisters, Eleanor (Plaisted) Pass and her husband David W. Pass, and Elizabeth “Libby” (Plaisted) Samarjian and her husband Stephen Samarjian; three nieces: Rebecca Pass of Maine and Stephanie and Josephine Samarjian of Massachusetts; and two nephews: Benjamin Pass and his wife Georgianna Gatcomb-Pass, and Jeffrey Pass, both of Maine; as well as one great-nephew, Floyd Pass.

A sincere thanks is owed by the family to Kathy, who has been Roger's guiding angel for the past 18 years.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Camden, Maine, Friday August 16 at 2 pm.

Due to Roger’s variety of interests, such as electronics, photography and the environment, the family asks in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to a charity of your choice to celebrate Roger’s memory.

Memories and a memorial video may be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. Honored to be caring for the family is Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.
