Jay – Roger N. Dalton, 40, of Jay, died unexpectedly, Saturday, March 12, in Jay. He was born in Farmington, July 14, 1981, a son of Gilbert Nelson and Hazel Jessie (McLean) Dalton and received his education in local schools and grew up on Macomber Hill in Jay.
He worked as a commercial truck driver across the State of Maine and was currently working as a switcher at the Verso Paper Mill in Jay. He enjoyed working on cars, camping and fishing with his father, and his mini-farm on Macomber Hill in Jay. He loved his children and playing guitar. His father taught him how to play when he was young, especially Johnny Cash songs. At the time of his passing, he was teaching his daughter how to play. He will be missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by a son, Emmett Nelson Dalton and a daughter, Kayleigh Renee Dalton, both of Jay; his mother, Hazel Blood and her husband, Oliver of Jay; siblings, Tina Rose of Phillips, Linda Jacques of Wilton, Rexton Dalton of Riley, Reginald “Reggie” Dalton of FL, Ronald Dalton of Riley, and Randy Dalton and his wife Donna of Canton; Many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Dalton.
Public memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 2 pm at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Jay. Memories may be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com.
