Obituary for Rodney Daoust

Rodney J Daoust (1957-2022)

Auburn - Rodney J. Daoust, of Mexico, 64, passed away peacefully February 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1957, son of Conrad Daoust, Jr. and Beryle Crockett Daoust. Rodney was educated in Wilton Schools and graduated Mt. Blue High School. Rodney was a hard worker all his life and a man of many talents. He started his career driving his father’s truck, “The Beast From The East”, cross country. He was also a welder. Rodney was proudly self-employed for many years as a logger to his company, R.J. Daoust Logging. He was known to cut all the wood nobody else would touch. He had no fear and always welcomed a challenge.

Rodney had a natural way of protecting those he loved, especially his two sons Adam & Daniel, who he was so proud of. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and anything that kept him outdoors. Rodney also had interests in: feeding his birds, antiques, eating with family and friends, playing dice with his niece Jessie, watching his cats, making wine, and watching football with his Dad, but mostly, Rodney loved spending time with all of his family laughing and telling jokes and funny stories. There was always laughter when you were around Rodney. Some of those stories were just unbelievable, but true! Rodney was a loving and honest man and made an impression to all.

“God saw you getting tired, when healing was not to be; So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered ‘Come To Me’. Your golden heart stopped beating, your strong hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away. Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping, so peacefully from pain. We could not wish you back once more to suffer that again” ~ Unknown

Rodney is survived by his two sons, Adam Daoust and wife Tabitha of Vassalboro, ME and Daniel Daoust of Rimrock, AZ; Two precious granddaughters Morgan Daoust and Winter Daoust; His father, Conrad Daoust, Jr. and wife Terri of Wilton; sister Audrey Daoust Richard and husband Jon of Wilton, a sister Darcie Daoust and Joe McCarthy of Wilton, sister Wendy Labbe of Chesterville; three nieces Jessie and Jenny Fitch of Tennessee and Kelsey Daoust of Danforth; a nephew Noah Daoust of Wilton; his best friend Aaron Garey of Canton; several cousins, and his Canadian Family.
