Obituary for Richard "Rick" Karkos

Augusta- Richard Michael “Rick” Karkos, 39, of Farmington, died Saturday at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. He was born in Farmington, June 22, 1983, a son of Bruce Edward Karkos and Prudence “Prudy” Ann Hardy and was a graduate of Mt. Blue High School.

Rick loved playing football and baseball and especially loved skiing. He followed the family tradition of being outside, enjoying camp in Temple as well as hunting and fishing. He was a loving father who adored his children.
He is survived by his father, Bruce E. Karkos and his wife, Sherie of Farmington; his mother, Prudence “Prudy” Chapman and her husband, Scott of Mt. Vernon; his children, Carter and Maci both of Farmington and their mother, Natasha Smith; brother, Jon Karkos of Farmington and his children, Gavin and Marinna and his twin, Paul Karkos and his wife, Danielle and their son, Braydon Simmons of New Vineyard; two stepsisters, Amy Lazaro and her husband, Ryan of Concord, MA and their children, Will, Mia, and Emma and Alicia Wolfe and her husband, Aaron of Oakland and their children, Lauren and Kylie; his paternal grandmother, Gail Karkos of Farmington; paternal step-grandmother, Donna Tracy; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Lyle Karkos; his maternal grandparents; his paternal step-grandfather, Albion Tracy; and an Uncle Paul Karkos.

The family invites relatives and friends to a memorial visitation, Friday, November 4 from 5-7pm at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington. Private family interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Farmington Elks Lodge, Bridge Street, Farmington on Saturday, November 5 from 1 – 4 pm.
