Obituary for Mildred Edwards
Rome – Mildred Inez (Ames) Edwards, 96, passed away at her home on January 28, 2024. She was born December 13, 1927, in Pownal, Maine, to Chester and Marguerite (Abbott) Ames.
She worked at Foster’s Manufacturing in Wilton for 15 years before her retirement. She loved crocheting and passed down her love and skill of the art to her grandkids. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds feeding on the feeder just outside her kitchen window.
Mildred is survived by her five children: Patty, Judy, Janet, Tony, and Wayne; her brothers Harold and Butch; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Freeland Edwards; her parents; her in-laws; a daughter, Donna; her sisters, Evelyn, Rita, Betty, Gerry, and Emma; her brothers, Richard, Bob, and Bob; and a son-in-law, Sherman Johansen.
