Obituary for Michelle Pelton

VIENNA - Michelle Lee Hastings-Pelton, 49, of Vienna, died Friday night on Mar. 25, 2022 at her home in Vienna, loving family by her side.

She was born in Great Barrington, New Hampshire on Aug. 23, 1972, the daughter of Alvin Roy Hastings and Mary Lou (Williams) Hastings. She graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1990, and received an Associate’s Degree from the University of Phoenix. On Oct. 12, 1996, she married Roger Pelton Jr.

Michelle spent a large portion of her adult life as a volunteer EMT for the Mt. Vernon Rescue. Primarily, though, she was a homemaker, and spent her days caring for her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed various arts and crafts over the years, such as scrapbooking, wreath-making, painting, and sewing. She loved playing 80s music while cleaning, cooking for her family, and watching rescue shows and horror movies. She loved taking long car rides with the family to get ice cream. Her dream was always to be a housewife, spending as much time in her children and grandchildren’s lives as possible.

Michelle is survived by her husband of 26 years, Roger W. Pelton Jr.; her mother Mary Lou Hastings; her daughters Dawn Lei Harris-Layton and her husband Marvin “Beamer” Layton of Farmington, Nichole P. Pelton and her fiancee Daryl Tyler Jr. of Mexico, and Tianna P. of Vienna; grandchildren Tyler and Bradley Layton, and Zebastian W. Pelton.

She was predeceased by her father, Alvin Roy Hastings.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 11 am at the North Vienna Methodist Church with Pastor Laura Church officiating. Following services, a time of refreshments will be held in the same location.

Condolences and tributes may be shared with the family in her Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. Cremation care is being cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.
