Obituary for Lester "Jake" Lovejoy

FARMINGTON - Lester “Jake” Warren Lovejoy of New Vinyard, born on April 29, 1951, a son of Warren Joseph and Barbara Della (Crocker) Lovejoy, passed away peacefully in his sleep following a short stay at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Jake graduated as Senior Class President from Anson Academy in 1969. He spent his life working in automotive sales with Knapp Brothers in Kingfield and finished his career with Franklin Chrysler in Farmington before retiring.

He enjoyed his annual hunting and fishing trips and loved gardening; his gardens were epic. He also shared his love of being outdoors with his three children: Renee Whitley, William Lovejoy, and Edith Lovejoy.

He is survived by his children; Renee (Mike) of Belgrade Lakes, ME, Edith (Jeff) of Palmer, MA, William (Melissa) of New Vinyard, ME; sister, Cindy Rogers of Solon, ME; and beloved canine companion, Max. Jake was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolanne Lovejoy; his parents; and siblings, Della Lewis, Rick Lovejoy, and Dennis Lovejoy.

The Family would like to recognize Franklin Memorial Hospital – specifically ICU nurses Kate, Molly, Eddie, and Ryena – for their unwavering care for our father in his final days. We appreciate all that you’ve done!

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 4-6 pm at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, where refreshments will be served. Memories may be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. The family asks that memorial donations be considered to the Franklin County Animal Shelter in Jake’s memory.
