Obituary for Kenneth Dube

Farmington - Kenneth Andre Dube Sr., 87, a resident of the Sandy River Center, formerly of Jay, died Friday, June 4th, at Sandy River.

Ken was born August 29, 1933, in Livermore Falls, a son of Roland and Pauline Dube. He was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School where he played on the school’s baseball and football teams and upon graduation, he attended Farmington State College prior to transferring to the University of Maine at Orono where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.

After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he spent four years before returning home to Maine to attend college.

On September 4, 1954, he married Maxine Allen at St. Rose of Lima Church in Chisholm. They were married for 48 years when Maxine passed away at the age of 71 in 2003. He was a long time teacher at Jay High School and worked summers at the mill. His hobbies included rooting for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, bird watching, Beano, visiting the Casino and eating at the buffet and visiting with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Dube Jr. and his wife Sandra of Lewiston; Ronald Dube and his wife Debra of Grove City, Ohio; two daughters, Deanne Gage and companion Bob of Fairfield, Susan Pinkham and her husband Paul of Thomaston; sister Gloria Jacques; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; his longtime companion Rachel. He was predeceased his sister Joyce Wing,

Relatives and friends are invited to the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Jay, on Wednesday from 3-4 pm for a time of visitation. Public graveside memorial services with US Army Honors will be held at Birchland Cemetery, Rt. 17, North Jay, Friday at 11 am followed by a reception at the Wiles Remembrance Center in Jay.
