Obituary for John Toothaker

Portland – John Michael Toothaker, 46, of Gorham, died unexpectedly, Wednesday afternoon, July 16, at Maine Medical Center in Portland with his family at his side. He was born in Farmington, Dec. 19, 1967, a twin son of Garfield and Lorraine Breton Toothaker and was a graduate with his BA from the University of Maine at Farmington. At the time of his death, he was a Licensed Site Evaluator and Certified Soil Scientist at Tooth & Associates in Gorham. On August 31, 1991, he married Elizabeth “Beth” Smith. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Beth of Gorham; two sons, Robert Cody Toothaker and John Kolt Toothaker, both of Gorham; his father, Garfield and his companion Judie Stevens of Gorham; his mother, Lorraine and Julie of Peru; siblings, his twin Jude, Lisa Miller, Morris Toothaker, Brandon Mountain, and Heidi Wilcox. Public memorial services will be held at Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Dolby&Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to memorial contributions to the John Toothaker Scholarship Fund, c/o Casco Federal Credit Union 375 Main Street, Gorham, Maine 04038 Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road is assisting the Toothaker family with service and cremation arrangements.
