Obituary for Janet McKenney

Rumford – Janet A. McKenney, 78, formerly of Shapleigh and Farmington, died early Friday morning, at the Rumford Community Home. She was born in Phillips, July 6, 1944, a daughter of Howard and Gertrude (Kempton) Thomas and was educated in local schools. Janet married Edward (Hank) Carey March 13, 1965 in Peru. She then married Raymond McKenney Oct. 4, 1986. They later Divorced but remained good friends. She made her home in Shapleigh for many years with her daughter, Penny and her husband, Ted, where she worked in the school lunch program for SAD 57.

She enjoyed reading romance novels, beano and crocheting and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters Alice (Perry) Blue, Penny (Ted) Theriault; Grandchildren April (Craig) Watson, Perry (Mindy) Blue, Tara (Mike) Morin, Mellisa Blue, Areasha (Aaron) Lockhart; Drew (Abigail) Shattuck, Theodore E (Elandra) & Thomas (Ashley) Theriault; Edward (Kathy) Carey, Erwin (Jessica) Carey, Tammy Shardlow & Wanda (Bruce) Williamson; Great Grandchildren-Mackenzie Foley, Devin, Dillion, Dayton Blue, Noah & E Carleton, Anna Morin, Johnathan, Kailee, Scott Mobbley, Brendan, Cody, Derrick, Ethan, Finley Lockhart, and Silas Theriault; she is also survived by her brothers William (Margie) Hanson & Randy (Linda) Hanson.

She was preceded by her husband Edward (Hank) Carey and her daughter Roselee Carey Stanley.

A Celebration of her Life will be held June 10, 2023 with interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton.
