Obituary for Jimmy Ryder

Farmington – James T. “Jimmy” Ryder, 80, of Wilton, died Saturday morning at the Sandy River Center in Farmington. He was born in Industry, Oct. 2, 1941, a son of Colby Ryder, Sr. and Marion Marsellus and received his education in local schools. On May 12, 1961, he married Nancy Davis at the Livermore Baptist Church and they made their home on High Street in Wilton for many years.
He was worked at Livermore Shoe, Forster Mfg. Co, GH Bass and later at International Paper. He loved antique cars; especially his Jeepster, old radios, camping, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He loved going to his children and grandchildren’s events and adored his three great granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Wilton; daughter, Cheryl McDonald and her husband, Barry of Jay; grandchildren, Jennifer Letendre and her husband, Jake of Livermore, Lindsey Hiscock and her husband, Yogi of Livermore, Ryan Cushman of Jay, and Derek Cushman of Temple; 3 great granddaughters, Kenley and Alyse Letendre and Lilian Hiscock; brothers, Colby, Jr. and his wife Alice of Strong, Roger of Temple, Bobby of TN, and Randy; a sister, Rachel Marble and companion, Frank of Wilton; step-siblings, Jeff Ryder, Tom Ryder, Lisa McGowan, and Florence; a sister-in-law, Betty Ryder; and their dog, Jill. He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet; and brothers, Stanley and Carroll.
There will be no services at this time. Memories may be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who desire, consider memorial gifts in his memory to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240. Cremation care has been cared for by the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington.
