Obituary for Genevieve "Jean" Nutile
RANGELEY - Genevieve “Jean” Nutile of Rangeley, formerly of North Haven, CT, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born in New Haven, CT and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School. She played amateur softball & basketball and was employed by Tyco U.S. Surgical until her retirement in 2002.
Jean was a member of Lady of the Lakes Catholic Women’s Club, Rangeley Region Guides & Sportsmen’s Assoc., Rangeley Skeet & Trap Assoc., Rangeley Crossroads Coalition, Trails for Rangeley Area Coalition. She had a love for outdoor sports, which she shared with her late husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Chipouras & husband Angelo of Winter Garden, FL., as well as sisters, Theresa Wadjowicz & husband Matthew of VT, and Martha Leavenworth & husband Lee of FL. Also, grandson Howard Myers, Jr., and great granddaughter Marianna Myers of CT. Predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Nutile, Jr. and daughter Laurie Jean Myers.
Also survived by her stepchildren, Rhonda Nutile (Francis Barkyoumb) of CT, John Nutile III (Joanne) of AZ, Diana Sjogren of CT and Kendra Nutile of VT, and their children & grandchildren. Predeceased by stepdaughter Andrea Nutile Nuzzo.
The family would like to express gratitude to the many friends who helped and cared for her, especially Marie, Rachel, Mary-Ellen, Mary and Roger, as well as the other Rangeley community members who lent a helping hand when she needed it. Also, thank you to the caring staff at Sandy River Center in Farmington, and the Androscoggin Hospice caregivers for their care and support.
