Obituary for Eugene White Sr.
RANGELEY – Eugene A. White, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born on June 4, 1939, in Dallas Plantation, the son of the late Alvah O. and Eunice B. (Bachelder) White, one of ten children.
Eugene served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961. He worked for many years as a woodsman for D.C. Morton and Sons, drove oil trucks for John Bicknell and Webber Energy. He was also a long-time school bus driver; he enjoyed driving the kids to school. At the end of every school year, Gene would stop and buy all the kids an ice cream, he enjoyed those kids so very much. He spent his retirement years enjoying working on his land and running old equipment. He was constantly on the move.
He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and his 4-legged best friend til the end, Molly Mae.
Eugene is survived by his 3 children, Karalee Savage and Eugene A. White, Jr. both of Rangeley and Kelley Brackett of Farmington: 4 siblings, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 2 sons, Kenneth White and Roy White, and his granddaughter, Tia Marie Brackett.
A Celebration of Eugene’s life will be private at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are encouraged to visit his Book of Memories and share words of comfort and sympathy. Honored to be caring for the family of Eugene A. White, Sr. is Wiles Remembrance Center - Farmington.
