Obituary for Eugene Martineau

Eugene E. Martineau, 88, of New Sharon Maine, passed away on February 7, 2021 at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Eugene was born June 23, 1932 in New Haven, CT to Wilfred H. Martineau and Alberta Kane. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1949 to 1953 aboard the USS Macon as an electrician.
Eugene married Jeanne Duquette Martineau on May 21, 1955. They had two daughters Catherine and Patricia.
After serving in the US Navy, he worked as an electrician at Pratt & Whitney in North Haven, CT. from which he retired in 1980. In 1981 he and his family moved to New Sharon, where they owned and operated the Krackling Log Kampground. He also worked at Franklin Memorial Hospital in security where he had many loving friends.
He is survived by his daughter Catherine Johnston and her husband Ray, and daughter Patricia McAllian-Ayinde and her husband Sulaimon and stepson Desmond as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne Martineau. Eugene was loved by all that he met.
Private interment will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Rd. in Augusta. Arrangements are cared for by Wiles Remembrance Center: Adams-McFarlane Chapel 137 Farmington Falls Rd.
