Farmington - Edward A. Langen, 82, passed early Friday morning, at The Woodlands Memory Care Center in Farmington, ME. He was born Nov. 29, 1940, in Rocky Comfort, MO, a son of John L. and Alice M. (Mitchell) Langen and graduated from Farmington High School in 1958.
Ed had a passion for cars and people. His career was focused, in the Automotive-Parts Sales field throughout New England area. He worked for companies including Chevrolet, Ford, Darling Auto Parts and Snap On, before retiring. Ed made his home primarily in Maine and Massachusetts, spending his later years in Biddeford and Lewiston, Maine. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed playing cards, socializing with friends, singing along to his favorite tunes or providing an impromptu performance for family. He was a devoted New England Patriots fan, lifelong coin collector and volunteered for the local PBS station. Later in life he became an avid square dancer, holding officer positions in Central Main clubs and occasionally called dances.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Lori-Anne Mosher and Teri Hain; 3 sons, John Wilde, Richard Wilde, and William Langen; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Glover, James Cole III, William Wilde, Lawrence Wilde, Joshua Roberts and Rachael Hain; 5 great-grandchildren, Alexandra Cole, Makayla Glover; Ashton Glover, Louis Roberts and Tatum Wilde. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Roberts; 2 sisters, Ruby Hardy and Bonita Langen. He (Uncle Sonny) will also be, missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Blessed with much love throughout his lifetime, Ed was grateful for the women in his life that bore / raised his children: Jena Marie Wilde, Ruth Allard and Betty Keddy.
Memories may be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. Cremation care has been cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington, with a private burial. A celebration of life to occur next year.
