Obituary for Drucilla "Dru" McAuley
LIVERMORE- Drucilla C. “Dru” McAuley , 69 of Livermore passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Hospice House in Auburn.
She was born on November 29, 1952, the daughter of the late Odlin McAuley and Beverly (Adams). Odlin passed when Dru was a baby, the only father she knew was the late Norwood McDaniel. Together Norwood and Beverly raised their children in Livermore, while running their store in town. Dru graduated from Livermore Falls High school the class of 1971. After graduating she worked for the family business for 5 years before entering the medical field and attending nursing school. She started her nursing career as a CNA all while taking courses at CMMC to receive her degree as a Registered Nurse. Dru was a hardworking, dedicated, powerhouse of an employee at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston for 40 years. Nursing in various departments, providing love and care for her patients until she retired from her career in the Emergency Department. When Dru was not at work she enjoyed the finer things in life… traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda and various other destinations with her dear friend, Debbie Merrill. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and adored making her nieces and nephews amazing birthday cakes for their celebration.
Dru is survived by her mother, Beverly McDaniel; brother, Torrie McDaniel and Angela; nieces and nephews, Kim McAuley-Serber, Scott McAuley and Amy, Hannah McDaniel, Cameron McDaniel and Brandon Pellitier; great nieces and great nephews Addison, Lilah, Alex, Ben, Nevaeh and Maddox; stepson Trapper Pellitier, stepdaughter Desiree Pellitier and their children and close friends, Paul Poore and Richard Rumney. Dru was predeceased by her fathers, Odlin McAuley and Norwood McDaniel, her brother, Larry McAuley; her sister Jane Pellitier and her husband James.
Memorial Graveside Service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11 AM at the Waters Hill Cemetery, Waters Hill Road, Livermore with Reverend Bonnie Higgins officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Dru’s memory can be made to the North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road, Livermore, ME 04253 or the Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis Center, 73 Allen Street, Wilton, ME 04294.
