Betty Hinkley Crocker, 73, of Waterville, Maine and Lake Placid, Florida passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. She was born in Farmington, Maine February 28, 1948 to Montell “Gus” and Marilyn (Barden) Hinkley.
Betty married her “one and only,” Wayne Crocker in 1977. They enjoyed a great life and shared so many happy moments together. She always said Wayne knew her better than she knew herself. To quote Betty, “scares the hell out of me sometimes.”
She felt privileged to be mother to her two daughters, Melissa and Michelle, and “Grammie” to Keirstin, Gabriel, Nicole, Dakota, and Violet. She loved spending time with her grandchildren on Pattee’s Pond in Winslow. She hoped her grandchildren would remember all the fun things they did and the days spent at camp.
Betty always had time for others and could be counted on when needed. She lived up to her married name well, and was a good cook. Most of the time!
She was also known for her insatiable sense of humor and quick wit. Betty always said, “when my number is up at the deli department, remember the good times and have a party to remember me!”
Betty is survived by her husband, Wayne Crocker of Waterville. Daughter, Melissa Crocker and wife Priscilla. Grandchildren: Keirstin, Gabriel, Nicole, and Dakota. Great-granddaughter, Violet. Niece, Tish Gornto, her husband, Randy and her children, Ashley Raulerson and her husband Benjamin, and Mitchell Preston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Michelle Crocker and brother, George Hinkley.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Rangeley. Donations may be made in her memory to your local animal shelter. Arrangements are cared for by Wiles Remembrance Center: Adams-McFarlane Chapel 137 Farmington Falls Rd. Farmington. A kind word may be left in her Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com
