Obituary for Alliston Welch

Wilton - Alliston Lawris “Allie” Welch, 70, died Thursday morning, Oct. 19, 2023 in his sleep at his home in Wilton. He was born February 15,1953 a son of Lawris and Eleanor (Chase) Welch. He lived in Wilton all his life and he attended Mt. Blue High School in Farmington.

He worked at Brookside Filling Station, Adams Garage, Chases’ Market, and the Five & Dime Store in downtown Wilton. He also was an EMT on the Wilton Volunteer Ambulance.

Allie enjoyed going to yard sales with his wife, Linda on weekends. They made many macrame chairs together. Their best friend that entertained them for many hours was their dog, Baley.

Allie was known for sitting in his electric wheelchair at the end of his road many days a week watching traffic. People would stop and chat him when they saw him there. He enjoyed baking for his neighbors, and they always kept an eye out for him.
He is survived by his brother Keith and his wife Annette of Jay; Sister Cynthia Welch of Wilton, and stepchildren David M. Burdin and wife Tonya of Gorham, Rebecca L. Scott, and husband Clifford of Weld; Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Scott Welch and his wife, Linda.

Public graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Route 2, Wilton, on Friday, October 27th at 3PM. Memories can be shared in his Book of Memories at www.wilesrc.com. Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington is honored to be assisting the family with cremation care and memorial services.
